1. Panormo – Arkadi
   In order to get to know our Prefecture it is recommended to start with the most important and famous monastery of Crete, the heroic Monastery of Arkadi. It has and will always symbolize the Cretans’ love for freedom.
2. Panormo – Margarites – Ancient Eleftherna
   Margarites is a particularly colourful village, where the art of pottery has been cultivated for ages.
   Eleftherna is one of the most important city-states of the Dorian Epoch.
3. Panormo – Perama – Garazo – Axos – Anoghia – Nida Plateau
   Mountain villages, where the locals have maintained the traditional way of life regarding both clothing and diet.
4. Panormo – Prassano Gorge – Amari Valley
   It will take a one-day-excursion in order to discover the forty picturesque villages, and to come to know the authentic Cretan farm life – a life that has remained untouched by tourism. Lush green valleys, caves, olive groves, plane-trees, Byzantine churches, Minoan, Roman and Venetian remnants will make this excursion a unique experience.
5. Panormo – Rethymno – Armeni – Kourtalioti Gorge – Preveli Monastery – Plakias – Kotsifou Gorge
   After having passed the famous Kourtalioti Gorge you will eventually arrive at the historical Monastery of Preveli. From this point a large number of the magnificent beaches of the south coast can be explored such as Plakias, Damnoni, Rodakino, up until Chora Sfakion.
6. Panormo – Melidoni
   We suggest a tour with the little train, which takes you to places of cultural and historical importance and gives you the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of this area. You should not fail to visit the traditional village of Melidoni and the cave of the same name, which also played an important role in history. Enjoy the sunset in Liano Kavo.
